Classmate’s Mother Arrested in Ahmedabad After Class 12 Student Dies by Suicide
Accused Neha Gohil

The Sarkhej police have arrested a woman in Ahmedabad for allegedly abetting the suicide of her son’s 17-year-old classmate, following a confrontation over the teenagers’ relationship.

The accused, Nehaben Vikramsinh Gohil, was taken into custody after the victim’s family provided investigators with CCTV footage and an audio recording of the incident.

The victim, Krisha, was a Class 12 student at Narayanguru School and resided in Parvatinandan Krupa Society. Police said she was in contact with her classmate, Hetraj Vaghela, via text messages. Gohil, a resident of Azadnagar Society in Fatehwadi, had previously objected to the relationship and warned both students to focus on their studies.

The August 31 Incident

The situation escalated on August 31 when Krisha’s father, Jayeshbhai, received a phone call from his wife stating that Gohil wanted to meet him. Working at the time, Jayeshbhai told his wife he would meet Gohil later that evening.

However, before he could return home, the family discovered that Krisha had taken her own life.

Evidence Submitted to Police

Reviewing CCTV footage around their residence after the tragedy, the family discovered that Gohil had visited their home and spoken with Krisha for approximately 30 minutes in their absence.

The family also recovered an audio recording of the interaction, which they turned over to the police. According to the complaint, Gohil confronted the teenager using harsh and intimidating language.

In the recording, Gohil allegedly told the 17-year-old to consume medicine and die or hang herself while no one was at home.

Investigation Underway

Attributing the extreme step directly to the intimidation, Krisha's family approached the Sarkhej police with the recorded evidence. Officers registered a case of abetment to suicide against Gohil and subsequently arrested her.

Investigators are currently analyzing the CCTV footage and audio recordings to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the student's death. Further investigation remains ongoing.
