Crane Operator Found Dead on 32nd Floor of SG Highway High-Rise in Ahmedabad

A 22-year-old crane operator was found dead on Wednesday morning, hanging from a crane structure on the 32nd floor of an under-construction high-rise along Ahmedabad's SG Highway, according to local police.

The deceased has been identified as Pritam Singh, who had worked at the site for several years. The incident occurred at the Tremont Adleap site opposite Nirma University, near Chharodi Lake.

Suspended at 300 Feet

Investigating officers stated that Singh allegedly took his own life late Tuesday night, hanging himself from the crane at an elevation of roughly 300 feet. The body remained suspended from the machinery overnight until construction crews arrived at the site at around 8:00 AM on Wednesday.

Workers immediately raised the alarm, after which emergency services and local authorities helped bring the body down from the 32nd floor.

Sola High Court Police Launch Inquiry

Officers from the Sola High Court Police Station arrived at the scene shortly after receiving emergency calls regarding a body hanging from the skyscraper.

Police Inspector K N Bhukan confirmed that an accidental death report has been lodged and a detailed inquiry is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigating teams are currently recording statements from fellow site workers, supervisors, and acquaintances of the deceased to understand what led to the tragedy.
