AMTS-BRTS Driver Clash at ISKCON Cross Roads Disrupts Bus Services

Public transport services were briefly disrupted at ISKCON Cross Roads after an altercation broke out between AMTS and BRTS bus drivers, reportedly following an attempt by an AMTS driver to overtake from the wrong side within the BRTS corridor.

The dispute escalated after the AMTS driver allegedly drove on the wrong side of the dedicated corridor while attempting to overtake, angering BRTS drivers at the spot.

Amid the confrontation, the AMTS driver reportedly abandoned the bus in the BRTS corridor and walked away. With the vehicle blocking the corridor, other buses were forced to stop, and passengers were asked to get off.

The disruption caused inconvenience to commuters, including people travelling to work and businesses, as bus movement came to a standstill and traffic began to build up at the busy intersection.

Police, AMTS And Janmarg Officials Reach Spot

Police were informed about the incident, following which officials from AMTS and Ahmedabad Janmarg reached ISKCON Cross Roads.

Officials intervened in the dispute and cleared the traffic, allowing efforts to restore normal bus operations.

An official said the traffic had since been cleared. The AMTS vigilance team also reached the spot and initiated action against the bus operator over the incident.

Further action is expected following an examination of the circumstances leading to the confrontation.
