AMC to Auction 9 TP Scheme Plots in Ahmedabad, Eyes ₹1,001 Crore Revenue

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will auction nine plots in Sola, Gota, Ambli, Jagatpur, Ranip and Hanspura through an e-public auction to raise funds for urban infrastructure.

Nine Plots to Go Under Hammer

The auction will cover plots acquired by the corporation under various Town Planning (TP) schemes. AMC expects the nine properties to fetch around ₹1,001 crore.

The e-auction will be conducted on October 15 and 16. Five plots in Hanspura, Ambli, Sola and Gota will be auctioned on October 15, followed by four plots in Gota, Jagatpur, Ranip and Sola on October 16.

Interested bidders can access details of the plots through the corporation's website. Registration will remain open until October 12, while online bids can be submitted until October 14.

Hanspura Plot Could Fetch Over ₹297 Crore

The largest property is Plot No. 96 under TP-109, covering Muthiya, Hanspura and Bilasiya.

Located in Hanspura in the North Zone, the residential plot measures 41,843 square metres. Its upset price has been fixed at ₹71,000 per square metre.

At the prescribed rate, the plot alone could generate more than ₹297 crore for the corporation.

Auction Proceeds to Fund Civic Infrastructure

The AMC plans to use the revenue from the sale of its reserved residential and commercial plots for developing basic amenities and infrastructure across the city.

Following approval from the Standing Committee, the funds will be channelled into projects covering drinking water supply, sewerage, paved roads, streetlights and stormwater drainage.

The allocation will also support parks and gardens, public libraries, civic centres and fire stations.

The corporation is banking on the sale of high-value plots in developed areas to raise funds without relying solely on its regular revenue sources for major infrastructure works.
