AMC seals unauthorised portions of Manpasand Gymkhana in Dariyapur

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Saturday sealed unauthorised portions of the Manpasand Gymkhana in Dariyapur after finding that parts of the premises were allegedly being used for non-residential purposes without approval.

According to an order issued by the AMC’s Estate and Urban Development Department (Central Zone), the property is located at Mota Waghjipura Naka on Jordan Road in Dariyapur, falling under Ward 21.

The civic body said the property had originally received approval under case number 28 dated September 5, 1962. The sanctioned plan permitted a commercial ground floor, residential first and second floors, and part of the third floor.

During an inspection, however, the AMC found that, apart from the approved commercial use of the ground floor, the remaining portions of the building were being used for non-residential purposes without authorisation.

The civic body therefore sealed the unauthorised portions on August 8, 2026, and directed the owners, occupiers and users to stop using the premises and not to enter or permit access to the sealed areas.

The order warned that if the seal is broken and the unauthorised use continues, the owners, occupiers, users and other persons responsible would be held liable for the violation. The AMC also warned of police action under the applicable provisions of law.

The sealing order was issued by the Deputy Town Development Officer, Central Zone, as part of the civic body’s action against unauthorised construction and use of premises.
