Housing Committee Chairman Darshan Shah said the additional layer was introduced to enhance public trust in the housing allocation process.

Duplicate Selection For Same Unit To Be Cancelled
The AMC has also modified the process following instances where the same applicant’s name appeared for the same unit number in different draws.
Under the revised procedure, if the same person’s name appears for the same housing unit number in different draws, that entry will be cancelled.
97,102 Applications Received For Housing Draw
The AMC is using its own software to conduct the draw-based allocation of housing units.
A housing scheme draw is scheduled to be held in the coming days. A total of 97,102 applications have been received, of which 7,825 applicants will be selected.
Housing units will subsequently be allocated to the selected beneficiaries.
50,079 Applicants Given Chance To Correct Reservation Category
The Housing Committee also reviewed errors made by applicants while selecting their reservation categories during the application process.
Incorrect category selection could create difficulties during the allocation process even if an applicant otherwise qualifies for the housing scheme.
To address the issue, the AMC reopened the online platform for applicants to correct their reservation category and informed them through messages.
Over a 12-day period, 50,079 applicants were notified about the opportunity to make corrections. Of these, 306 applicants changed their reservation category.
