AMC Fills Parks And Gardens Director Post After Two Years; Keyurkumar Gohil Appointed

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has filled the post of Director of Parks and Gardens after nearly two years, with Keyurkumar Kiritkumar Gohil appointed to the position on a one-year probation period.

Gohil's appointment had been pending as the proposal was deferred four or five times by the Staff Selection Committee due to a departmental inquiry against him.

Appointment Cleared After Clean Chit

According to Deputy Municipal Commissioner Arjav Shah, Gohil received a clean chit in July, and the Corporation was informed about it on September 2.

Following the clearance, the proposal for his appointment was placed before the Staff Selection and Appointment Committee.

The committee approved his appointment as Director of the Parks and Gardens Department during its meeting on September 21.

Gohil will initially serve on a one-year probation, during which his performance will be assessed.

The appointment fills a post that had remained vacant for almost two years and sets the process in motion towards a regular appointment, subject to applicable conditions.

Five Assistant City Engineers Promoted

The Staff Selection and Appointment Committee also approved several promotions in the AMC Engineering Department.

Five officers currently serving as Assistant City Engineers were approved for promotion to the post of Deputy City Engineer in the Roads and Buildings Department.

In the Water Resource Management Engineering Department, the committee also approved promotions against 17 of the 18 posts earmarked for promotion out of the 27 Deputy City Engineer positions.

These promotions will be subject to State Government approval and fulfilment of the prescribed conditions.
