AHMEDABAD — Two years after its initial announcement in the municipal budget, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has officially floated tenders for the ₹570 crore 'Ahmedabad City Square' on Sindhu Bhavan Road. Slated to rise in the Bodakdev area, the landmark project features a 175-metre-high iconic tower, a sky walk, a revolving restaurant concept, and extensive multi-level parking designed to give the city a striking new architectural identity.
A 175-Metre Sky-High Attraction
Approved after being first proposed in the 2024-25 budget, the tender was formally published on 25 October 2026. Once a contractor is finalized following orientation and pre-bid meetings, construction will carry a strict 42-month completion window—roughly three and a half years.
The crown jewel of the development will be the 175-metre tower. At roughly 40 metres high, the structure will house a restaurant complemented by a terrace deck café. Above this, spanning from 40 to 175 metres, a massive digital screen will wrap part of the facade for dynamic advertisements. At the summit, a high-altitude viewing gallery and sky deck complete with a sky walk will offer panoramic vistas of Ahmedabad, engineered to accommodate between 50 and 75 visitors at a time. Access to these heights will be facilitated by dedicated high-speed lifts, part of a 17-lift network distributed across the complex.
Urban Plaza, Commercial Hub, and Solar Integration
Spread across a 12,091 square-metre built-up footprint on a 13,144.40 square-metre plot allocated by the estate department, the complex aims to merge commercial vitality with public recreation.
- Retail & Dining: Lower, upper, and ground floors will accommodate 50 commercial shops. The upper ground floor will feature an urban plaza complete with food kiosks, a food court, landscaped gardens, water fountains, and an amphitheatre seating up to 310 people. Around 5,990 square metres of the ground level are earmarked for green landscaping and plant cover.
- Sustainability: Renewable power generation is integrated into the blueprint via installed solar trees to supply on-site electricity.
Massive Underground and Surface Parking Solutions
To handle high footfall along the busy Sindhu Bhavan corridor, subterranean infrastructure extends 15 metres deep across three basement levels.
Basement-1 is designated for 195 cars, Basement-2 for 190 cars, and Basement-3 will house 1,100 two-wheelers. To ease traffic congestion further, an auxiliary corporation-owned plot situated directly opposite the City Square has been designated to park an additional 450 cars.
