A 33-year-old woman who runs a production house in Gota was allegedly assaulted with a wooden stick by her former boyfriend, Kishu Chawla, and his associate, Sagar Naraniya, near the gate of Naiya Paradise Society in Vastral, Ahmedabad, following a police complaint against them.
The incident, which reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a police application, was captured on CCTV. Ramol police have registered a case against the two accused and launched an investigation.
Attack Allegedly Followed Police Complaint
According to the complaint, the woman and Kishu Bhavarlal Chawla had been in a relationship for around five years before separating about 18 months ago. Chawla, who runs a modelling office in Vastral, allegedly began relationships with other women after their separation.
On October 1, Chawla reportedly called the woman and pressured her not to meet his other female friends, triggering an argument. Subsequently, three women jointly submitted an application at Ramol police station against Chawla, Sagar Naraniya and Tushar Nandgiri over Chawla's alleged relationships with multiple women.
Woman Beaten, Threatened with Death
After submitting the application, the women went their separate ways. The complainant later went to Naiya Paradise Society in Vastral to drop off a friend when she allegedly encountered Chawla and Naraniya, who were already present near the entrance.
According to the complaint, Naraniya questioned the women over their police application, abused them and assaulted the complainant with punches and kicks. He then allegedly fetched a wooden stick and struck her on the left hand, shoulder and legs.
Chawla allegedly threatened to kill the woman if she continued her friendship with the other women.
The accused fled after the woman raised an alarm and local residents gathered at the scene. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
Ramol police have registered a case against Chawla and Naraniya. Police are working to trace the accused and are examining CCTV footage of the incident.
