Ahmedabad–Tiruchirappalli Weekly Train to Run Regularly From September 24

Passengers travelling between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu will get a major boost in connectivity as the Western Railway has decided to make the weekly special train operating between Ahmedabad and Tiruchirappalli a regular service.

The existing Ahmedabad–Tiruchirappalli–Ahmedabad Special, currently operating as train numbers 09419/09420, will be converted into the regular 19419/19420 Ahmedabad–Tiruchirappalli–Ahmedabad Weekly Express.

The regular service will commence from September 24, 2026.

With the conversion into a regular Express service, passengers are expected to benefit from lower fares compared with the special train, a fixed timetable, easier advance reservations and greater certainty while planning long-distance journeys.

The service is expected to be particularly useful for passengers travelling from Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat to destinations across western and southern India.

Ahmedabad–Tiruchirappalli Express to Depart Every Thursday

Train 19419 Ahmedabad–Tiruchirappalli Express will depart from Ahmedabad at 9.20 am every Thursday and reach Tiruchirappalli at 3.35 am on Saturday, the third day of the journey.

The return service, train 19420 Tiruchirappalli–Ahmedabad Express, will depart from Tiruchirappalli at 5.45 am every Sunday and arrive in Ahmedabad at 9.15 pm on Monday.

The return service will begin from September 27, 2026.

Train to Connect Gujarat With Several South Indian Cities

The train will provide direct connectivity between Ahmedabad and several cities across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

In both directions, the service will halt at stations including Vadodara, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Vasai Road, Kalyan, Pune, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Krishna, Raichur, Mantralayam, Adoni, Guntakal, Tadipatri, Kadapa, Renigunta, Arakkonam, Perambur, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Vaithiswarankoil, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Papanasam and Thanjavur, among others.

The extensive route will make the service particularly beneficial for passengers travelling to important destinations in Tamil Nadu and other southern states.

What Coaches Will Be Available?

The regular weekly Express will have coaches catering to different categories of passengers.

The train will include AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper and General Class coaches.
