Ahmedabad Tea Stall Owner Alleges Knife Attack By Four Men

A 27-year-old tea stall owner has alleged that he was attacked with knives by four men, including an acquaintance, at his shop in Ahmedabad's Behrampura area in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.

Danilimda police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged attack.

Two Men Enter Tea Stall

According to the complaint, the victim, identified as Salman, runs Mirza Tea Stall opposite Al Mubarak Flat in Barrel Market. He was at the shop on September 8 and fell asleep at around 2.30 am, while his workers remained present.

Salman alleged that around 3.45 am, two men entered the shop and began arguing with him and abusing him, waking him up.

He told police that he recognised one of the men as Sohil Zahir Khan Pathan, while the other was unidentified. Both men were allegedly carrying knives.

Owner Suffers Cuts To Face

According to Salman, Pathan attempted to stab him in the face. As he moved aside, the knife allegedly struck the right side of his nose, leaving a cut and minor injury.

The second man also allegedly tried to attack him with a knife, during which Salman suffered a cut on his right cheek.

Salman said he raised an alarm and ran outside the shop, where he allegedly saw two more unidentified men waiting.

Four Men Allegedly Flee On Two-Wheeler

As his workers and other people gathered at the spot, the four men allegedly threatened to kill him before fleeing on a two-wheeler.

Salman later approached Danilimda police and lodged a complaint, naming Pathan and three unidentified persons.

Police have registered the case and begun examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack. The sections invoked and the identities of the three unidentified accused are yet to be confirmed.
