A 48-year-old housing society treasurer and used-car trader has alleged that he was assaulted with wooden sticks and threatened with death by six men during a confrontation at Shri Balaji Wind Park society in Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda area on October 19. Gold ornaments, including a chain and bracelet, allegedly went missing during the incident, while a ring and wristwatch were reportedly recovered in a damaged condition.

The Chandkheda police registered a case on October 21 following a complaint by Sunilbhai Patel, who alleged that the attack was linked to an old dispute involving one of the accused.

Old Dispute Allegedly Behind Attack

According to the FIR, the dispute dates back around two years, when accused Jaydeep Prajapati and society manager Pankaj Singh allegedly brought five men from outside the society and assaulted Patel near its entrance. A complaint was subsequently lodged at Chandkheda police station.

Patel alleged that Prajapati had held a grudge against him because he had accompanied him in connection with the earlier incident but later refused to withdraw from the matter.

Treasurer Allegedly Attacked Twice

The latest incident reportedly occurred around 4.45 pm on October 19, when Patel was at the society office with another resident, Hiteshbhai Dangi, discussing arrangements for Dussehra celebrations.

Prajapati allegedly arrived, abused Patel and assaulted him. Two other accused, Shakraji Viraji Thakor and Bharat Thakor, residents of Tragad village, allegedly joined in. According to the complaint, Shakraji beat Patel with a wooden stick, which Bharat then took and used to assault him further.

Another associate of Prajapati, whose identity was not known to the complainant, allegedly joined the confrontation. Society security personnel and a cleaner intervened to prevent the assault from escalating.

The men allegedly left the office but returned shortly afterwards. Gautam Raval and another unidentified man reportedly got out of a nearby vehicle carrying sticks, while Prajapati was also allegedly armed with a stick.

The complainant alleged that the group resumed the assault and that Prajapati instructed his associates to put him in their car. He also allegedly threatened to kill Patel.

Gold Chain And Bracelet Missing

During the altercation, Patel’s gold chain, ring, bracelet and wristwatch went missing. The ring and watch were reportedly recovered in a broken condition, but the chain and bracelet could not be traced.

Patel estimated the value of the missing and damaged ornaments at approximately ₹15 lakh.

The accused allegedly fled in a white Mahindra XUV and a black Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Injured Man Taken To Sola Civil Hospital

Patel, who said he was experiencing severe pain following the assault, was taken by ambulance to Sola Civil Hospital after another society member called the 108 emergency service.

He later approached Chandkheda police along with the society chairman to lodge a complaint.

Police have registered a case against Jaydeep Prajapati, Shakraji Thakor, Bharat Thakor, Gautam Raval and two unidentified men. Further investigation is under way.
