The Anandnagar police have registered a case against the owner of a private security agency for allegedly operating despite an expired licence and employing a security guard without mandatory training.
The accused has been identified as Ramprakash Harishankar Tiwari, 50, owner of A-One Security Agency and a resident of Thaltej.
The complaint was filed by a head constable attached to Anandnagar police station during an investigation into another case registered on August 9.
Guard Allegedly Worked Without Training, ID Card
According to the complaint, police found that Dharmasinh Ramshankarsinh Rathod, 27, who had been arrested in the earlier rape case, was working as a security guard on Anandnagar-Jodhpur Village Road and had reportedly been doing so for around four days.
Police allegedly found that Rathod had not undergone mandatory security training and did not have a security identity card. The agency had also allegedly failed to provide the police with the required details regarding his employment.
Agency Licence Had Expired
During the inquiry, Tiwari allegedly told police that A-One Security Agency had been operating under a licence. However, records showed that the licence was valid from April 5, 2021, to April 5, 2026, and had not been renewed after its expiry.
Despite this, the agency allegedly continued providing security services and deployed Rathod without completing the required formalities.
Police Probe Agency Records
Police have registered a case under provisions of the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 and are examining whether other regulatory requirements were also violated.
The Anandnagar police are checking the agency's licensing records, the recruitment and verification process for Rathod and whether other untrained or unverified guards were deployed by the agency.
