Ahmedabad Rural Police Seize 259 Boxes of Liquor and Beer Worth ₹13.31 Lakh Near Bavla

The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Ahmedabad Rural Police seized 259 boxes containing Indian-made foreign liquor and beer worth ₹13.31 lakh from an open compound near Rajoda village in Bavla taluka on Wednesday, police said.



Raid Based on Specific Information

Acting on specific information received during patrolling, an LCB team raided the open compound of Hanumanji Marble and Art, located along the Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway near Rajoda village and under Bavla police station limits.
Police said three men were arrested from the spot. The seized consignment comprised 259 boxes containing different brands of Indian-made foreign liquor and beer. The liquor was valued at ₹13.31 lakh.



Three Men Arrested

The arrested accused were identified as Chintan Singh alias Chintu Dilip Singh Rathod, originally from Valasana in Mehsana district and currently residing in Bavla; Ramesh Chandra alias Ramesh, a native of Udaipur in Rajasthan who was residing near Hanumanji Marble on the Rajoda village border; and Kishan Ramendra Gurjar, a resident of Udaipur district.



Vehicles, Phones Also Seized

Along with the liquor, police seized a Rajasthan-registered vehicle valued at ₹10 lakh, a TVS Jupiter scooter worth ₹50,000 and three mobile phones valued at ₹65,000.
The total value of the seized material, including the liquor, vehicles and mobile phones, was estimated at ₹24.46 lakh, police said.



Probe Underway

A case has been registered at Bavla police station. Police are investigating the source of the liquor consignment, its intended destination and the possible involvement of other people in the alleged illegal trade.
