Senior Police Inspector K N Bhukan supervised the investigation, while PSI S J Desai formed teams and activated local intelligence networks to identify the vehicle and its driver.
The investigation team examined around 200 CCTV recordings covering the location of the accident and the route allegedly taken by the suspected vehicle.
Police personnel eventually identified the vehicle and traced its driver with the help of CCTV footage and local intelligence.
Driver Arrested, WagonR Seized
Police eventually located the accused, identified as Kishan alias Pochi, son of Kedarsinh Chaurasia, 29, a driver residing in the Chandlodia area of Ahmedabad, near Madhav Garden in Chanakyapuri.
He was brought in for questioning, during which police said he confessed to his alleged involvement in the accident.
Police subsequently recovered the Maruti Suzuki WagonR allegedly used in the case.
