Ahmedabad Municipal School Board Gets 3 NIEPA National Awards

Ahmedabad Municipal School Board has received three National Awards from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, for outstanding work in education. Gujarat had selected 10 officers from 84 district and taluka-level officers for the national honour, including three officers from the Ahmedabad Municipal School Board. With this, four officials of the School Board have now received the NIEPA National Award.

The awards were presented at a programme in New Delhi by Padma Shri Professor J.S. Rajput, former Director of NCERT, and Professor Ram Shankar Dubey, Chancellor of NIEPA. Deputy Administrative Officer Dr Parimal A. Patel was honoured for his work on the Smart School Project and student exposure visits to Gandhi Ashram.

Awards for Improving School Education

Deputy Administrative Officer Dr Dineshbhai A. Desai received the award for improving educational performance in the South-West Zone through the AROH category, with the support of teachers and students. Assistant Administrative Officer Dr Nimishaben V. Chauhan was honoured for her work under the Student Attendance Enhancement Programme in schools in the East Zone.

Fourth NIEPA Award for School Board

In 2023, School Board Administrative Officer Dr L.D. Desai had also received the NIEPA National Award. This takes the total number of NIEPA award recipients from the Ahmedabad Municipal School Board to four. According to the Municipal Corporation, the School Board has become the institution in Gujarat with the highest number of NIEPA National Awards.

The School Board said the achievement was possible because of continuous support from civic and School Board officials, along with the efforts of teachers and students. New teaching methods, student participation and the collective work of the entire School Board team were also credited for the achievement.
