AMC Says Mosquito-Borne Diseases Under Control
The civic body said its latest health data indicates that mosquito-borne diseases remain lower than the corresponding period last year.
Ahmedabad recorded 146 cases of simple malaria in July 2025, compared with 50 cases in July this year.
Up to August 16 this year, the city has reported 48 cases of simple malaria, six cases of toxic malaria, 68 cases of dengue and one case of chikungunya.
Water-Borne Diseases Also Under Watch
The AMC has also been monitoring diseases linked to contaminated water and poor sanitation during the monsoon.
So far in August, the city has reported 192 cases of diarrhoea and vomiting, 39 cases of jaundice and 95 cases of typhoid.
The civic administration is continuing inspections at construction sites, commercial premises and other locations to prevent stagnant water from becoming mosquito-breeding grounds during the monsoon.
