A 22-year-old man was allegedly attacked with a knife by his friend during an argument over a girl in Ahmedabad’s Rakhial area on Monday evening. The accused allegedly hit the victim twice on the head, leaving him seriously injured. He was taken to Civil Hospital for treatment, while Rakhial police registered a case against the accused and started an investigation.
The injured man was identified as Mohammed Sufel alias Golu Moinuddin Pathan, a resident of Gomtipur who works as a POP labourer. According to the complaint, Sufel was at a paan stall opposite Chakudia Mahadev Temple at around 7 pm with his friend Sameer Sikandar Saiyed.
Argument Turns Violent
According to the complaint, another friend, Sameer, who lives near Chakudia Mahadev, called Sufel and asked where he was. After Sufel told him that he was at the paan stall, Sameer reached the spot within a few minutes on an Activa two-wheeler.
Police said that after reaching the spot, Sameer allegedly became angry over a matter involving a girl and started abusing and beating Sufel. When Sufel objected to the abuse and assault, the accused allegedly became more aggressive.
Two Knife Blows to the Head
The complaint states that Sameer then took out a knife and allegedly attacked Sufel twice on the head. After the attack, he allegedly threatened to kill Sufel and his friend Sameer Sikandar Saiyed before fleeing the spot on his two-wheeler.
Sufel, who was seriously injured, reached the entrance of his residential area on a motorcycle. His elder brother Aamir Khan called an ambulance and took him to Civil Hospital for treatment. Rakhial police have registered a case against Sameer and are investigating the incident.
