Assaulting, Threatening to Kill Parents Over Property Dispute: Ahmedabad Man Booked

A 60-year-old woman has accused her unemployed son of assaulting her and threatening to kill both his parents during a family dispute over property in Ahmedabad. The Ramol Police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation. The incident took place around 9.30 pm on July 20 at the family's home near Devasya Ratanpura Police Chowki in the Vastral area.

Argument Turns Violent

According to the police complaint, Kokilaben Vitthalbhai Prajapati, a homemaker, lives with her husband, who works as a security guard, and their younger son, Anand alias Chetan alias Gafur Prajapati. Kokilaben said her son became angry after she objected to him spending time at a neighbour's house. She alleged that he returned home, abused her and physically assaulted her.

Police Register Case

Hearing the noise, Kokilaben's husband tried to stop the fight, but the accused allegedly started arguing with him as well. During the argument, Anand allegedly demanded a share in the family house and threatened to kill both his parents if they did not agree to his demand. The woman said her cries for help brought neighbours to the house, after which the accused left the spot.

Kokilaben later called her nephew, Jignesh, who reached the house and informed the police. A police control room vehicle arrived at the scene, and Kokilaben, her husband, her nephew and the accused were taken to the Ramol Police Station for further action.

Based on the complaint, Ramol Police registered a case against Anand alias Chetan alias Gafur Prajapati under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for assault, criminal intimidation and other offences. Police said the incident appears to be linked to a family property dispute, and further investigation is underway.
