An HP laptop worth around ₹90,000 was allegedly stolen from a Volvo S90 parked opposite SK Farm in Ahmedabad’s Bodakdev area on Wednesday afternoon after an unidentified person smashed the car’s rear window panes.
According to a complaint filed by Girirajsinh Bharatsinh Chauhan, 43, a resident of Gandhinagar, the theft occurred between 2.15 pm and 2.45 pm on October 14, when he had left his car on the roadside to attend a construction-related meeting.
Laptop Missing After Meeting
Chauhan, who has been handling construction work at a newly developed site near Vaishnodevi Circle for around one-and-a-half years, had gone to an office in the Petron Building on Sindhubhavan Road for the meeting.
He parked his Volvo S90 near SK Farm at around 2.15 pm. When he returned after the meeting, he found that the rear door window panes on both sides had been broken.
The black HP company laptop he had left on the back seat was missing. Chauhan estimated the loss at approximately ₹90,000 and alleged that the unidentified thief had smashed the windows to steal the device.
Bodakdev Police Register Case
Chauhan subsequently approached Bodakdev police station and lodged a complaint seeking action against the unidentified accused.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is under way.
