A complaint alleging the molestation of a 12-year-old girl has led to a second case of alleged violence in an Ahmedabad residential society, after her father claimed he was attacked with a knife while defending his wife during a confrontation with the accused family.

The Chandkheda police have registered a case following the allegations involving two members of a family living in a residential society in Jagatpur. The complainant, a 42-year-old businessman, alleged that the dispute escalated after he confronted the family over what his daughter had disclosed to him.

According to the complaint, the father sustained a cut on the left side of his abdomen and was taken to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the allegations.

Father Learns of Alleged Molestation After Daughter Returns From School

The complainant alleged that the incident involving his daughter took place between 5 pm and 7 pm on October 24, when she was at the house of a neighbour, identified as Nakul Rushabhbhai Chauhan, in the same residential complex.

He alleged that Nakul and his father, Rushabhbhai Chauhan, touched the girl inappropriately.

According to the complaint, the father learnt about the alleged incident on October 25, after his daughter returned from school and told him what had happened. He initially tried to contact Nakul’s mother before approaching his father over the allegations.

The complainant further stated that, when he later spoke to his daughter again, she allegedly disclosed that the two men had touched her inappropriately on two or three earlier occasions as well.

Dispute Escalates Outside Society’s D Block

The complaint states that the confrontation intensified on the evening of October 25, when the complainant’s wife, children and other women residents were sitting outside D Block.

Nakul, his parents and another family member allegedly approached them and questioned why they were defaming their son. The complainant’s family alleged that they were threatened during the confrontation.

The following afternoon, on October 26, Chandaben Rushabhbhai Chauhan allegedly called the complainant and his wife, abused them over the phone and asked them to come to the area outside D Block.

Chilli Powder Thrown, Father Alleges Knife Attack

According to the complaint, when the couple confronted the family, Chandaben allegedly threw chilli powder at them. Rushabhbhai Chauhan then allegedly arrived with a knife and attempted to attack the complainant several times.

The father claimed he tried to evade the blows but suffered a cut on the left side of his abdomen. When the assailant allegedly turned towards his wife, he used a floor-cleaning wiper lying nearby to defend her.

Other residents intervened and stopped the confrontation, according to the complaint.

The accused family members allegedly threatened to implicate the complainant under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and threatened to kill him and his family if they continued living in the society.

Father Taken to Sola Civil Hospital

The complainant told police that he called the emergency helpline 112, while another person called an ambulance through 108.

He was taken to Sola Civil Hospital, where doctors treated his abdominal injury and discharged him.

After returning home, he approached the Chandkheda police with family members and other society residents to lodge a complaint. He also submitted his daughter’s birth certificate as part of the complaint.
