89.52% Property Tax Bills Distributed
Meanwhile, AMC's distribution of property tax bills for 2026-27 is nearing completion.
As of September 8, the civic body had distributed 23,73,243 of 26,51,178 property tax bills, completing 89.52 per cent of the distribution process.
A total of 2,77,935 bills are still pending.
AMC is required to complete bill distribution within three months. With around 20 days remaining in the scheduled period, thousands of property owners are still awaiting delivery of their bills.
East Zone Has Highest Number Of Pending Bills
There is a significant variation in bill distribution across AMC's zones.
The North West Zone has recorded the highest completion rate at 98.30 per cent. In contrast, the East Zone has completed only 76.34 per cent of its distribution.
Of the 5,00,530 bills allocated to the East Zone, 1,18,406 remain pending, the highest number among the city's zones.
Relief On Interest For Late Bills
AMC has said property owners who receive their tax bills late will be given adequate time to make payments.
Where a bill is delivered after the scheduled period, arrangements will be made to ensure that interest is not charged on the bill amount for one month.
The survey of commercial activities on private plots is part of AMC's effort to identify properties that may have escaped tax assessment. The additional revenue generated from these properties will become clear once the survey and subsequent assessments are completed.
