A 21-year-old college student who had left home on his motorcycle to meet friends was found severely injured and naked inside the compound of an apartment complex in Isanpur on Thursday, October 2. He later died during treatment, police said.

The student, identified as Jigar Solanki, was allegedly assaulted with a blunt object before being left at the Tirthbhumi Apartment compound behind Sardar Patel School. Isanpur police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons based on a complaint filed by his maternal uncle and have begun an investigation.

Student Found Bloodied Inside Apartment Compound

Jigar, who was from Bhavnagar, had been staying with his 44-year-old maternal uncle Harshitbhai Chauhan, a lawyer living in Isanpur, for the past two-and-a-half months.

He had been studying B.Voc Finance at Silver Oak College in Gota for around one-and-a-half years. Before moving in with his uncle, he had been staying in a paying guest accommodation.

According to the complaint, Harshitbhai was sitting with friends near Jaymala on October 2 when he received a call from a relative informing him that something had happened to Jigar.

Harshitbhai immediately called Jigar's mobile number.

Instead of Jigar, an unidentified person answered the call.

The person allegedly told Harshitbhai that Jigar was lying naked and injured at Tirthbhumi Apartment behind Sardar Patel School and that he had been assaulted.

Harshitbhai rushed to the location.

When he reached the apartment compound, he allegedly found Jigar with multiple injuries caused by a blunt object. He was in a critical condition and was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.

Despite medical treatment, Jigar died shortly afterwards.

Police Probe CCTV Footage

The preliminary investigation indicates that Jigar had left home on his motorcycle saying that he was going to meet his friends.

The circumstances leading to his presence at the apartment compound and the identity of those who allegedly assaulted him remain under investigation.

Following the complaint by Harshitbhai, Isanpur police registered a case of murder against unidentified persons.

Police have begun examining CCTV footage from the area to trace Jigar's movements and identify the persons who may have been involved in the alleged assault.

The investigation is underway.
