26-Year-Old Woman Dies After Falling From 11th Floor Of Thaltej Apartment

A 26-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after falling from the terrace of an 11th-floor apartment in Ahmedabad’s Thaltej area late Tuesday night, police said.

The deceased was identified as Deepika Gogia, who lived with her parents and sister at the Shakti 140 residential complex near Thaltej Metro station.

According to police, Deepika was at home when she allegedly went to the terrace of the building and jumped. She fell into the basement parking area and sustained fatal injuries, dying at the spot.

Bodakdev Police Begin Investigation

After residents and family members noticed the incident, police were alerted. A team from the Bodakdev police station reached the residential complex and began an investigation.

Her body was subsequently sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination as part of the legal procedure.

Bodakdev Police Inspector Sandeep Khambhla said the woman's family members were questioned as part of the preliminary investigation.

Police Examine Possible Circumstances

Police said the family provided medical records indicating that Deepika had been undergoing treatment and taking medication for a mental health condition for some time. Investigators are examining whether this could have played a role in the incident.

No suicide note was found at the scene or among her belongings, police said.

Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
