2,508 Bottles of Liquor Worth ₹15.45 Lakh Seized by Ahmedabad LCB, Smuggler Escapes

The Ahmedabad Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) has seized 2,508 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth ₹15.45 lakh after intercepting a suspected smuggling operation in the Kanbha Police Station area.

The suspected smuggler managed to escape after abandoning a luxury car during a police chase, prompting a search operation to trace those involved.

Raid Conducted Following Specific Intelligence

According to police, the LCB received specific intelligence about a large consignment of liquor being transported through the Kanbha area.

Acting on the tip-off, officers raided Star Platinum Estate near Bhavda Patiya under the jurisdiction of Kanbha Police Station.

During the operation, police attempted to stop a luxury car suspected of carrying the contraband. However, the driver allegedly fled after abandoning the vehicle on the road.

Liquor and Vehicle Seized

A search of the abandoned vehicle led to the recovery of 2,508 bottles of IMFL.

Police seized the liquor along with the luxury vehicle. The total value of the seized property, including the liquor, has been estimated at ₹15,45,400, of which the liquor alone is valued at ₹5,45,400.

Probe Underway

Police have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the consignment and identify the intended recipients of the liquor.

Efforts are also underway to trace and apprehend the suspect who fled the scene during the operation.
