Ganja Worth ₹10.99 Brought From Maharashtra Seized In Ahmedabad; Two Arrested

A rickshaw driver and a woman were arrested near Kalupur Railway Station in Ahmedabad after the SOG allegedly recovered 21.980 kg of ganja worth ₹10.99 lakh from their possession.

Ganja Brought From Maharashtra By Train

The accused were intercepted while allegedly travelling in a rickshaw from the back road of Kalupur Railway Station towards Patravali Masjid.

Acting on a tip-off, the SOG team kept watch with panch witnesses and stopped Ashish alias Bhatto Patel, a resident of Sardar Chowk in Krishnanagar, and Sonal Yadav, a resident of Chhapra in Santoshi Nagar, Kubernagar.

Police found four bags containing 11 parcels wrapped in khaki tape. An FSL officer tested the substance at the spot and confirmed it was ganja.

A total of 21.980 kg of ganja was recovered from the two accused. Police seized the contraband and other material worth around ₹11.05 lakh.

Kubernagar Mother-Son Duo Allegedly Behind Consignment

The preliminary investigation revealed that the ganja had allegedly been ordered from Maharashtra by Babita alias Babbo and her son Bobby, residents of Machis Gali in Kubernagar.

Police said the mother-son duo had allegedly arranged the consignment through their associates, including Ashish and Sonal.

The duo has been declared wanted along with the alleged supplier, Ashok, from Maharashtra.

₹20,000 Commission Offered For Delivery

During questioning, Ashish allegedly told police that Bobby and Babita had previously sent him to Nandurbar in Maharashtra to collect ganja from Ashok.

He was allegedly paid ₹15,000 for each trip.

For the latest delivery, Ashish reportedly took Sonal with him and the two were promised a ₹20,000 commission.

According to the investigation, Ashok handed over the consignment outside Sindkheda Railway Station. Ashish and Sonal then allegedly boarded a train with the ganja and travelled to Kalupur Railway Station in Ahmedabad.

Police are continuing the investigation to trace the wanted accused and establish the full network behind the alleged supply.
