Rakhiyal police arrested Shahbazkhan Akilkhan Pathan, a resident of Chandulal Patel’s Chali near the Fish Market, after acting on information that he was allegedly storing and selling cannabis from his residence.

During the raid, police searched a room on the first floor of the house and allegedly found a yellow-and-blue plastic bag tucked under an iron cot. The bag was labelled ‘CHOCO BERRY KIDS WEAR’.
When police opened it, they allegedly found 192 small transparent packets containing suspected cannabis, along with loose plant material. An FSL scientific officer was called to the spot and the substance was confirmed as cannabis, police said.
Police seized 894.6 grams of cannabis and arrested Pathan.
Police Trace Alleged Supply To Gomtipur
During questioning, Pathan allegedly told police that he had purchased the cannabis from a man identified as Agas alias ‘Bobda’, who is believed to live near the Jhulta Minara in Gomtipur.
Police said Pathan allegedly sold the cannabis locally in small pre-packed sachets. A case has been registered and efforts are under way to trace and apprehend the alleged supplier.

According to police, the accused had allegedly prepared around 192 small packets in advance and packed them inside the children’s clothing bag.
The bag was then allegedly kept under the cot, allowing the accused to quickly take out individual packets whenever customers arrived.
Police suspect the arrangement was intended to make the bag appear ordinary and avoid attracting attention from neighbours or anyone entering the house.
The Rakhiyal police are continuing their investigation into the alleged drug supply chain and the involvement of the wanted co-accused.
