1.72 Lakh Bottles of Seized Liquor Destroyed in Ahmedabad Rural’s Sanand and Aslali

The Ahmedabad Rural Police on Thursday destroyed 1,72,678 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) seized in 146 prohibition cases registered across police stations under the Sanand and Aslali divisions. The seized stock was valued at approximately ₹5.05 crore.

Sanand Division Accounts for 1 Lakh Bottles

In the Sanand division, liquor seized in 63 prohibition cases was destroyed. The stock comprised 1,00,127 bottles, valued at around ₹3.09 crore.
Sanand GIDC police accounted for the largest seizure, with 44,678 bottles from 12 cases, followed by Changodar police, which destroyed 35,186 bottles seized in four cases. Bopal police accounted for 9,335 bottles from 54 cases, while Sanand police destroyed 12,327 bottles seized in 23 cases.

Aslali Division Destroys 72,551 Bottles

In the Aslali division, liquor seized in 43 prohibition cases was destroyed. The stock comprised 72,551 bottles, with an estimated value of ₹1.66 crore.
Vivekanandnagar police accounted for 48,283 bottles from eight cases, while Kanbha police destroyed 11,830 bottles from 28 cases. Aslali police destroyed 11,338 bottles seized in 17 prohibition cases.

Senior Officials Present During Disposal

The destruction was carried out in accordance with prescribed rules governing the disposal of liquor seized in prohibition offences.
Sanand SDM Sanket Patel, Sanand SDPO and in-charge Aslali SDPO Nilam Goswami, police inspectors from Bopal, Sanand, Changodar, Sanand GIDC, Aslali, Vivekanandnagar and Kanbha police stations, and the Prohibition and Excise officer were present during the disposal.
