12-Year-Old Girl Dies After Dumper Hits Scooter Near Ahmedabad’s Thaltej Crossroads

A 12-year-old girl was crushed to death after a dumper allegedly collided with the scooter she was travelling on with her mother and 10-year-old brother near Thaltej crossroads in Ahmedabad on Monday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Aaradhya Deepakbhai Barot.

Girl Came Under Dumper’s Rear Tyre

According to preliminary information from SG-1 traffic police, Aaradhya was travelling with her mother and younger brother on an Activa when the accident occurred near Thaltej crossroads.

Police said the scooter was turning from the left towards the right when the dumper driver allegedly failed to notice the two-wheeler and struck it.

The impact threw Aaradhya from the scooter, following which she came under the dumper's rear tyre and sustained fatal injuries.

Her mother was rendered unconscious in the aftermath of the collision, while her 10-year-old brother suffered minor injuries.

Dumper Driver Identified

SG-1 traffic police have identified the dumper driver allegedly involved in the accident. However, an FIR had not been registered at the time of filing this report.

A senior Ahmedabad Traffic Police official said the registration process was taking time as the family was in a state of shock following the death.

"The family is in shock at present, and therefore the FIR process is taking some time. Once the necessary formalities are completed, we will register the case and take further legal action, including the arrest of the accused driver," the official said.

Further legal action is expected after the FIR is registered.
