Massive fire at waste recycling factory in Amreli’s Jafrabad, no casualties so far
Amreli district witnessed a massive fire at a private factory near Babarkot village in Jafrabad on Saturday noon. As the fire rapidly escalated, seven fire brigade teams were employed to control the blaze.
The factory, involved in waste recycling, caught fire due to unknown reasons, creating panic in the area. The flames intensified quickly, prompting immediate response from fire brigades. Officials, including the mamlatdar and Jafrabad police, reached the site to assess the situation.
Firefighters from Rajula, Jafrabad, Pipavav Port, Sintex Company, and Ultratech Cement Company also arrived to assist in dousing the fire. The sudden and intense flames have likely caused significant damage to the factory, though the exact extent of the loss is yet to be ascertained.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire while efforts to control it continue.
The fire seemed so massive that thick plumes of smoke could be seen from a great distance. Due to the intensity of the fire, smoke is visible from two kilometres away. Clouds of smoke have spread across the sky.
